It's been a little while, so lots of interesting things to mention:
- Neat publishing concept: get published, but only pay a proportion when you sell any copies. Whether it is really eBay meets Amazon remains to be seen
- Government backing for innovation, or, in the words of xPRESS Digest, "Researchers are being encouraged to turn their innovative ideas into commercially marketable products by £25m in Government funding launched today through the Public Sector Research Exploitation Fund (PSRE). Aimed at bringing blue-skies research and the latest developments in technology and innovation to commercial success, the third round of funding opens today and applicants have until the 4 November 2005 to apply." - the title of this BBC article says it all: Microchips tag stray Delhi cows
- another BBC piece, this time on e-mail free Wednesdays (why Wednesdays?)....by the police
- and, to show that banks do have a sense of fun, a Japanese bank which is running fruit-machine style games while the customer is waiting for their balance to be printed, or money to emerge; genius
+ my favourite GIB idea of the past few weeks:
+ the most topical:
Reciprocal luggage display to reduce tension on public transport
