The Global Ideas Bank is putting out a call amongst its community and members for a creative idea with which we can help contribute in some way to the relief effort. This could be: a fundraising idea, a viral marketing idea to remind people of medium and long-term needs, creating web resources, and so on. The key thing is that it should be implementable and be able to be put into action swiftly...
There is a wiki up here to post up ideas, add comments and discuss what can be done.
THIS HORRIFIC NATURAL DISASTER HAS LEFT THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD OPEN MOUTHED. THE DISTURBING IMAGES BEING SPLAYED ALL OVER OUR T.V SCREENS HAVE SUCCESSFULLY PUSHED US ALL INTO A FUND RAISING FRENZY. THERE IS NO BETTER TIME THAN THE PRESENT TO RAISE SERIOUS MONEY FOR THIS WELL DESERVED APPEAL. IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS TIME THIS FRENZY WILL BE SLOWING DOWN, PEOPLE WILL DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM THE DISASTER, AND SADLY THE COUNTRIES WHO HAVE SUFFERED SO MUCH, WILL NEVER BECOME THE PARADISES THEY ONCE WERE. SO WHATS THE BEST WAY TO RAISE MONEY IN A SHORT SPACE OF TIME. WELL I SUGGEST SOMETHING NATIONAL, SOMETHING THAT WILL DRAW BRITAIN TOGETHER AS A NATION. WHAT BETTER PROPOSAL IS THERE THAN A MASSIVE FUNDRAISING CONCERT. THE ENTERTAINERS OF THE UK CAN GET BRITAIN OFF HER ARSE. THEY ARE THE PEOPLE WE LISTEN TO. THEY ARE THE PEOPLE WHO CAN SAVE LIVES. MUSIC IS THE CORE OF BRITISH CULTURE TODAY, PEOPLE WILL BE INTERESTED, PEOPLE WANT TO HELP SO LET THEM.
I AGREE THIS WILL TAKE ALOT OF PLANNING. BUT WE'VE DONE IT BEFORE AT 'WORLD AID' AND WE CAN DO IT AGAIN. PLEASE SUPPORT ME ON THIS ISSUE HOW EVER CRAZY YOU BELIEVE MY PROPOSAL TO BE. BEACAUSE IF IT WORKS IT WILL SAVE MILLIONS. will gore aged 14

The Tsunami Radio Transmitter
Could be a radio wave transmitter
atop/interior cased buoy. The use of
solar chip/ transmitter would be used
to send messages tower to tower.
Several of these could be placed and be receiving signals continuosly.
Low maintenance, and excellent results!
The chip also needs to have temperature
setting,and elevation of waves setting
to observe high tide and low tide.
There is a new software program coming available this year that shows an image/cam
at various places that you own[ and that can reveal actual photos of real time].
This will be offered to the public by summer this year at very affordable pricing.
My close friends are all in the software
and hardware industry, and I see numerous
cute items to help people on many levels.
I believe the most difficulty for the
observation and physical structure to take
place will be coordinating the areas of the buoys, and a receiving station.
Next, the country whom puts it there, will
need to educate the citizens and a team
to know its significance.
The maintenance and operations center
would need to be assembled ASAP, along
with the weather station.
